The word Migraine originated from Greek (Unani) “hemi” meaning “half” and “krania” meaning “skull”. In Urdu it is called Dard-e-Shaqiqa. It is marked by symptoms like headache and increased ocular sensitivity that may vary in intensity throughout the day from being worse in the morning to less intense later on. Migraine is generally 35% hereditary.
While non Unani medicine can at best manage the symptoms to some extent, Herbal medicine has the potential to cure the ailment completely.
