The word Sciatica originated from Greek (Unani) words \u201ciskhion\u201d meaning \u201chip joint\u201d and \u201ciskhiadikos\u201d meaning \u201cpain in the hips\u201d. In Arabic, Sciatica is referred to as Irqunnisa. It is a condition in which the Sciatic nerve, which is the largest nerve in the body extending from the lower spinal cord through the Glutes ending down the lower limb, is agitated in some way.
